To Do
451. Hold up an attention-getting sign outside the “Today Show” window
My Story
Updated June 20, 2010
I don’t get to watch much of the Today Show, maybe about 10-15 minutes while I’m eating breakfast in the morning, but one of my favorite parts of the show is when one of the reporters talks to the people standing outside in the crowd, wearing special T-shirts or holding up signs.
I like to hear their stories, to join their celebrations of a Sweet 16 or support someone who’s fighting cancer. It’s a little slice of people’s lives – what they’re celebrating, fighting for, or joking about right now, in this particular moment.
I’m not sure what my sign would say since I’m not sure what will be going on in my life when I get there. Maybe I’ll be celebrating my daughter’s sweet 16 or supporting a loved one or welcoming my first grandchild into the world. You’ll just have to watch and find me there.
