I think I was first inspired to learn Morse code when I saw the movie Space Camp, where morse code saved everyone’s lives and allowed the Shuttle to communicate with ground control. Ahhhh…cheesy unrealistic 80s movies.

I don’t imagine there’s a lot of use for Morse code these days. I don’t even think you could send a telegram if you wanted to – and why would you need to when you could just IM or text or email or call from a cell phone with free long distance?
