Is there ever really such a thing as an unnecessary thank-you note? I think that if anything, there’s a severe shortage of thank you notes out there in the world.

I try to be really conscientious about thanking people who have done something nice for me. I send thank you notes whenever I’ve been a guest at someone’s home, whenever I receive a gift, and any time I’m just really touched by something somebody did for me. Of course, I say thank you in person, but I think it’s a really nice touch to write a personal thank you note – written words have so much more weight. A note can be saved and treasured always.
