561. Lobby for more women on U.S. currency

My Story

Updated January 2, 2011

According to this article on about.com, only four women have appeared on regularly circulating U.S. currency: Martha Washington (the only woman to appear on paper currency), Pocahontas, Susan B. Anthony, and Sacagawea.

Is the problem that we tend to use past presidents on our currency, and in 2011, there still hasn’t been a female president?
