560. Walk over hot coals
My Story
Neverminded February 5, 2009
There are all those stories about walking over hot coals being a case of mind over matter – if you really believe your feet won’t be burned, you can walk over hot coals unharmed. But I’ve burnt the bottoms of my feet on hot sand walking across the beach on a sunny day. So I’m not so sure I’m convinced.
I even heard one story of a woman who was challenged to walk over hot coals. She was scared of burning her feet, so she refused. The next day, her feet were burned – supposedly because her mind so vividly imagined her feet being burned if she walked across the coals.
