74. Finish a marathon

Notice that I didn’t say ‘run a marathon’ – just ‘finish’. There are plenty of people who walk marathons.
A few months back, I did the C25K program. If you’re not familiar with it, it’s “Couch to 5K” as in couch potato to running a 5K in 12 weeks. Yes, I completed it, and yes, I could run 5K (about 3 miles) when I finished without stopping.
But I didn’t love doing it. It was fun to work toward a goal like that and accomplish something, but I really didn’t like running. Maybe that was because I ran on a treadmill and I’d like it more if I were out in the world, but then again…nah. I just didn’t like running. It was boring and sweaty and my earbuds kept falling out of my ears.
Still, there are marathon training groups for those intent on walking the race. Walking I enjoy – it’s not quite as sweaty and my earbuds stay put.
